“motorworld”

This is a look at my “motorworld”. The world of motors (cars, bikes, ships, aeroplanes, locomotives, and more) as seen by me.

A little background history: In the beginning, man used to move around his legs. Human intellect always sought ways and means to do things in a better manner than existing methods. Some time later, he got the idea to ride horses, camels, donkeys etc to save his effort in travelling faster and farther than before, and oxen to help in farming. As time passed, man made carts pulled by horses to carry larger loads to greater distances.

The human ingenuity led to invention of steam engines about 300 years ago to replace animals as prime movers. The steam engines could be used for industrial applications or very large vehicles such as trains and ships due to large size of equipment required. This lead to the first industrial revolution.

Then the invention of motors about 150 years ago increased the pace of development. Motors – gasoline and diesel powered engines as well as electric motors – enabled inventors to design and develop vehicles for individual, family and communal applications. That brings us to present day where motors power all sort of transport and equipment. This blog is my take on world of motors.
